Dudley, Wolverhampton and South West Staffordshire Breast Screening Service
The Dudley, Wolverhampton and South West Staffordshire Breast Screening Service is part of the National Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and invites around 34,000 local women for screening each year. We provide a free breast screening service for women aged between 50 and 70, resident in the Dudley, Wolverhampton and South West Staffordshire area. If you are over 70 you may contact us for an appointment but you will not currently be automatically invited.
We aim to provide and promote an efficient and effective, high quality breast screening service, to all eligible women within a caring environment.
Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage, often before there are any symptoms. To do this, an x-ray is taken of each breast (mammogram). Early detection may often mean simpler and more successful treatment.
