Shropshire Breast Screening Service
The Shropshire Breast Screening Service is part of the National Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and invites around 23,000 local women for screening each year. We provide a free breast screening service for well women aged between 50 and 70, resident in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
We aim to provide and promote an efficient and effective, high quality breast screening service, to all eligible women within a caring environment.
Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage, often before there are any symptoms. To do this, an x-ray is taken of each breast (mammogram). Early detection may often mean simpler and more successful treatment.
Please watch this video as women share their breast screening experiences and urge all women to prioritise their health, as early detection saves lives.
