Your breast screening appointment may take place either in the Mammography Suite inside the Treatment Centre or in the mobile breast screening unit located just outside the Treatment Centre.
Please refer to your appointment letter to confirm the location.
To get to the Mammography Suite (location 22 on the hospital map) go into the Main Entrance of the Treatment Centre, turn right, and follow the yellow triangles on the floor.

By Rail
Shrewsbury station is the nearest main line station. It is approximately a 10-minute taxi journey away. For information on train times and operators call National Rail Enquiries on 08457- 484950
By Bus
Arriva bus No 1 from Shrewsbury Bus Station to Mytton Oak Road, where the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital is located, the bus stop is next to the Out Patients Department.
By Car
From the North West follow the A5, the hospital is signposted at the island with junction B4386, take FIRST exit.
Continue for about 1 mile to the mini roundabout and turn left onto hospital site.
From the East follow the M54 motorway, continue onto the A5 bypass, at the first island take the LEFT exit, and follow the signs to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
At the 5th Island turn RIGHT and continue for about a mile to a mini roundabout and turn left onto hospital site.
Directions to Treatment Centre (Mammography Suite)
Having turned onto the hospital site, continue on that road for as far as you can go and then bear left.
The Treatment Centre is on the left just before the button roundabout.
Car parking is located in front of the building.
To get to the Mammography Suite go into the main entrance of the Treatment Centre and turn right and follow the yellow triangles on the floor. This will direct you straight to the clinic

New: Patient Park and Ride trial at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
- Patients and visitors will have full access to the Park and Ride services for a small charge of £1.
- The bus runs every 15/20 minutes from the car park at Oxon Park and Ride to the Treatment Centre entrance.
- The Oxon Park and Ride is located behind the Bicton Heath Co-operative, with the nearest postcode being SY3 5AD (Bicton Heath Retail Park, Shrewsbury).
- There is also a walking route from the car park to the hospital, which takes approximately 20 minutes.
