When we screen

Once every three years your GP practice will be contacted and all women eligible for screening will be invited. You do not have to contact us to make an appointment, we will ensure that you receive your invitation at the appropriate time. Please see the table below for the approximate dates that we will be screening eligible women from your practice. If your practice is not shown in the current list - please search for it by typing in the practice name in the box above the table below and clicking search.

The screening programme routinely invites women aged 50 up to their 71st birthday.

The screening programme also offers women aged 71 years of age and over a free breast screen every 3 years and they are encouraged to call the unit to make an appointment that suits them. The telephone number is 01905 760145.

Not every woman will receive an appointment as soon as she is 50. You will receive your first appointment before your 53rd birthday and therefore there is no need to contact us for an appointment.

If it has been more than three years since your last screening appointment then please contact us as soon as possible.

If it has been less than three years since your last appointment there is no need to contact us at this time.

Please note that if at any time you notice any changes in your breast/s or have any breast symptoms of any kind then please contact your GP practice immediately.
