When we screen

Once every three years your GP practice will be contacted and all women eligible for screening will be invited. You do not have to contact us to make an appointment, we will ensure that you receive your invitation at the appropriate time.

Women over 71 are not sent a routine breast screening invitation but are entitled to a free breast screen every three years. We encourage you to contact us to make this appointment. The unit telephone number is 0121 335 8050.

Not every woman will receive an appointment as soon as she is 50. You will receive your first appointment before your 53rd birthday and therefore there is no need to contact us for an appointment.

If it has been more than three years since your last screening appointment then please contact us as soon as possible.

If it has been less than three years since your last appointment there is no need to contact us at this time.

Please note that if at any time you notice any changes in your breast/s or have any breast symptoms of any kind then please contact your GP practice immediately.
