When we screen

Once every three years your GP practice will be contacted and all women eligible for screening will be invited. You do not have to contact us to make an appointment, we will ensure that you receive your invitation at the appropriate time.

Women over 71 will not be sent a routine invitation but are entitled to a free breast screen every three years. We would encourage them to call the unit to make an appointment when they are due. The unit telephone number is 0121 507 4967.

Not every woman will receive an appointment as soon as she is 50. You will receive your first appointment before your 53rd birthday and therefore there is no need to contact us for an appointment.

If it has been more than three years since your last screening appointment then please contact us as soon as possible.

If it has been less than three years since your last appointment there is no need to contact us at this time.
